The casino
In 1971 the original casino burned down during a Frank Zappa concert, a fire that inspired Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water”. Today’s rebuilt casino stands on the same lakeside site.

Beyond the tables
Walk the flower-lined lakeside promenade to Chillon Castle, ride a cogwheel train into the mountains, or time your trip for the Montreux Jazz Festival in July.
Getting there
Geneva Airport is just over an hour away by direct train, which runs along the lake.
